Strategy for Working with Employers

 

Our primary mission is to support the local economy through the provision, development and delivery of excellent skills training and vocational education.

Bedford College aims to be a leading provider of Engineering training that is accredited with the Training Quality Standard for our work with employers.


Our strategic aims are:

To work proactively with employers and other key stakeholders to contribute to sector reform and to ensure the continued relevance of our Engineering training provision

To support the development of current adult workers within the industry and encourage the recruitment of new individuals into the sector

To tackle issues relating to an ageing workforce

To support the upskilling of personnel to satisfy the need for multi-disciplined engineers

To establish apprenticeships, VRQs and bespoke training solutions as channels for engagement with employers

To develop networking opportunities with local employers for the exchange of information and to inform curriculum development and innovation

To promote engineering as a vibrant career opportunity to potential graduates with appropriate skills

To contribute to the College targets for employer responsive, adult responsive and commercial income and numbers

To promote skills for sustainable development in the Engineering curriculum
