The CIW (Certified Internet Web
Professional) program is the world's fastest growing
vendor-neutral Internet skills training and certification program.
More than a certification or a curriculum publisher, CIW is a
Web technology standard adopted by academic institutions,
governments and businesses worldwide. CIW includes
applications and competencies, but the core curriculum focuses on
the foundational standards that sustain the infrastructure of IT -
including web design, e-commerce, security, networking and
databases.
CIW certifications verify that certified

The CIW Web
Foundations Associate is the most popular
vendor-neutral web education program in the world. Students

Bedford College is offering a range of options to enable you to
complete the program and gain certification. You can enrol on
a teacher-led, classroom program and enrol on the
complete Web Foundations Associate program, or you can enrol on the
individual Foundation programs – Internet Business, Site
Development and Network Technology – as separate courses.
Alternatively, you can study by a tutor-supported,
self-study program where you can study from home or work
at times when it is convenient to your own schedule. The
self-study courses are a convenient learning tool for individuals
who do not have the flexibility to attend traditional classroom
training.
As with the taught program, you can enrol at the start on the
complete Web Foundations Associate program, or you
can enrol on the individual Foundation programs – Internet
Business, Site
Development and Network
Technology – as separate courses. Students may
register at any time

Entry Requirements
The CIW Foundations Associate course is designed for beginners
but we recommend a general knowledge of IT, computers, web design
and Internet/Email use. If you have any doubt about whether
this is the correct program for you, you should feel free to
contact teaching staff in the Computing department to discuss the
program.
Assessment Methods
The CIW Foundations Associate course prepares candidates to take
the CIW Foundations exam, which, if passed, earns the individual
the CIW Foundations Associate certification. However, some
candidates may prefer to take any or all sections of the exam –
Internet Business, Site Development and Network Technology –
separately.
Candidates, therefore, have two options for earning the
CIW Foundations Associate certification:
- Option 1: Pass one exam
(1DO-510) that covers all three foundational disciplines.
- Option 2: Pass three modular
exams, and earn three additional modular certifications.
The CIW Foundations Associate exam (1D0-510)
consists of 85 multiple choice/multiple answer questions over 90
minutes and the passing score is 63%.
To earn the CIW Internet
Business Associate certification, individuals must
pass 1 exam - CIW Internet Business Associate exam (1D0-51A).
The exam consists of 30 multiple choice/multiple answer questions
over 30 minutes.
To earn the CIW Site Development
Associate certification, individuals must pass 1 exam
- CIW Site Development Associate exam (1D0-51B). The exam
consists of 30 multiple choice/multiple answer questions over 30
minutes.
To earn the CIW Network
Technology Associate certification, individuals must
pass 1 exam - CIW Network Technology Associate exam
(1D0-51C). The exam consists of 25 multiple choice/multiple
answer questions over 30 minutes.
The Exams can be taken at Bedford
College. The costs of the exams are additional to course
costs – but, being an Authorized Academic Partner for the Certified
Internet Web Professional (CIW) v5 Certification program, we offer
the exams at a reduced rate.
