New qualification enables teaching assistants to cover short term teacher absence
Schools are constantly looking at ways that
they can maximise their resources and a new qualification from
Bedford College enables teaching assistants to gain the skills they
need to cover a pre-prepared class in the short term absence of the
teacher.
Not only can this provide your school with
more flexibility in terms of staff resource but it can also lead to
significant cost savings for short term supply cover.
The Cover Supervision of Pupils in Schools
course includes the following topics: understanding child and young
person development, safeguarding the wellbeing of children and
young people, communication, schools as organisations, children and
young people’s behaviour, equality, diversity and inclusion,
supervising whole class activities, engaging in personal
development, supporting children and young people’s health and
safety and team working.
The course is delivered via e-learning so
students can have online access to their assessor, resources,
tutorials and reading materials. They will also have workplace
assessments from their assessor throughout the course.
