Award-winning women from Bedford College are sponsoring an International Women’s Day event in Bedfordshire onThursday February 16th.

Nationally acclaimed marketeer Sarah Baxter, Director of Sales and Marketing at Bedford College, and local prize-winner Gina Bubbins (Employee of the Year Bedfordshire Business Women’s Club and Top Networker Bedfordshire Beacon) and who is the Business Development Team Manager at Bedford College will be welcoming guests.

 

The sponsorship highlights the College’s commitment to support women in the workplace and into leadership roles. 

 

In fact International Women’s Day is being marked a month early at the Shuttleworth campus of the College with a lunch arranged by the Bedfordshire Businesswomen’s Club.

 

Held in a large hall at Old Warden Park, Biggleswade SG18 9EA. from 10.00am – 2.30am on Thursday February 16th  the guest speaker is TV’s Ruth Badger from The Apprentice

Cashing in on success of businesswomen

 

The February event demonstrates the success of a business partnership between an award-winning marketeer and successful entrepreneur. 

 

Sarah Baxter is charged with ensuring 18,000 people a year choose to study at Bedford College Her team forges close links with employers ranging from global giants Vauxhall to local retailers.

 

Kerry Cash is well known as the leading light behind 5th Avenue hair and beauty studio - and is now Chair of the Bedfordshire Businesswomen’s Club which has hundreds of members.

 

The two have decided to join forces to help female entrepreneurs and employers to make the most of their businesses, and themselves.

 

Sarah said: “I went along to a BBW lunch and was really impressed by the calibre of women and the businesses they own or represent. At Bedford College one of our keys aims is supporting entrepreneurs and employers - so I decided Kerry and I should work together on a number of projects during her year as President .”

 

Kerry added: “I want this to be the best year ever for BBW and for its members - there is so much more we can do to help ourselves and others.”
