5th Avenue Hair & Beauty Spa
5th Avenue Hair & Beauty Spa has been established
in Bedford town centre for over 12 years. Well known local
business woman and hairdresser Kerry Cash started up the salon to
provide a one stop shop for all hair and beauty services.
When Kerry was asked about her reasons for
taking on an apprentice she explained:
“I am passionate about investing in people and
believe that the best way of achieving hairdressing skills is to
combine the technical training achieved at the College alongside
“hands on experience” within a salon. Hairdressing is not
just about cutting someone’s hair but also being able to
communicate with your clients and provide excellent customer
care. An apprenticeship scheme is excellent for combing both
of these skills.”
“Many of the apprentices I take on come from
extended work experience but the College have also found me
apprentices over the years. Our apprenticeship liaison
officer Sonia and assessor Nicky work very closely together and
provide me with regularfeed back on how my staff are
developing.”
Kerry advised that Daniel has already
benefited her business by establishing his own client base,
bringing in new customers to the salon. He finished his
apprenticeship early and has already won competitions by showcasing
his hairdressing skills.
“I would definitely recommend taking on an
apprentice to another company and I am already looking for more
apprentices for 5th Avenue Hair and Beauty Spa.”
