The Government recently set out its priorities for economic growth in its “Skills for Growth” white paper http://www.bis.gov.uk/policies/skills-for-growth, this paper clearly articulates the Government focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) subjects as the area of future growth for the nation.

The white paper also sited “low carbon technology” as a key area for skills development. This industry is estimated to be worth £3bn and is a key specialisation of the Centre for Technology.
