Aeronautical Engineering
The UK’s aerospace and defence industries are
key players in world markets, making a major contribution to the UK
economy through commercial operations, manufacturing and research
into new technologies.
As new manufacturing techniques and other new
technologies emerge, aerospace companies need a larger proportion
of their workforce to have higher-level skills. In the future the
focus will be on skills for innovation and new product delivery
with more demand for professional engineers and technicians.

Bedford College has been providing quality
training for the aerospace industry for over 25 years. We can
support you in making sure your employees receive the training they
need, with clear progression routes.
We have excellent workshop
facilities, with industry standard; tools, equipment, materials
and hardware. The aerospace department also has an example of
all four types of gas turbine engine and a Jetstream aircraft with
fully functioning hydraulic and electrical systems. These
facilities allow learners to put their new skills and knowledge in
to practice in a realistic environment.
