Apprenticeships for IT and Telecoms Professionals (Procom
Apprenticeships)
IT Professionals include people who manage IT
systems, support IT users and IT systems, develop software and
design and maintain computer networks.
The IT Professional Apprenticeships both
have four components:
- Diploma in ICT Professional
Competence
- Award / Certificate in ICT
Systems & Principles (Procom - Technical)
- Functional Skills in Maths,
English and ICT
- Employment Rights &
Responsibilities
You can choose from a wide range of units to
fit in with the employee’s job role, and professional
certifications from Microsoft, Cisco and CompTIA can be used
as credits towards these qualifications.

There is no requirement for day-release at
College. A candidate’s skills gaps can be filled by:
- Attendance at College for short courses,
workshops, evening classes or infilling into daytime classes
- On-the-job training
- Distance learning
- External training
courses
The most appropriate method of
study will be agreed with the employer.
